What You Can Expect
Your day begins at 07:45 at the Walvis Bay Angling Club on Atlantic Street.
Morning Marine Cruise:
Your day begins at the Catamaran Charters slipway in Walvis Bay.
Board a comfortable catamaran for a guided cruise around:
• Walvis Bay Harbour
• Pelican Point
• Outer Walvis Bay Lagoon
• Coastline towards Langstrand
Expect breathtaking ocean views and rich marine life. Friendly seals often hop on board, dolphins swim alongside the boat, and pelicans glide overhead. During whale season, you may even spot Southern Right or Humpback Whales.
A light lunch is served on board, including fresh Namibian oysters and sparkling wine, making this a relaxed and luxurious start to your day.
Desert Adventure:
After returning to the slipway, your 4x4 desert guide will collect you for the second part of your journey.
• Stop at the Walvis Bay Lagoon, a RAMSAR wetland home to thousands of flamingos and other birdlife.
• Visit the Walvis Bay Salt Refinery, Africa’s largest solar evaporation plant.
• Drive into the Kuiseb River Delta, where vegetation attracts wildlife such as Springbok, Oryx, and Ostrich.
• Cross natural salt pans before entering the dramatic dune belt.
As you enter the Namib-Naukluft National Park, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic. Follow the coastline until you reach the narrow passage where the towering dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean, one of Namibia’s most iconic scenes.
If conditions allow, continue to Sandwich Harbour, where you’ll have time to explore and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by desert and ocean.
After lunch, enjoy a scenic return drive through the dunes or along the coast back to Walvis Bay.

Access to Sandwich Harbour depends on tidal and weather conditions. If access is restricted, a spectacular viewpoint will be visited instead.
Wildlife Sightings:
Kayaking is operated by Eco Marine Kayak Tours and depends on supplier availability. While rare, availability cannot be guaranteed.
Transfers:
Marine wildlife and whale sightings are seasonal and cannot be guaranteed.
Bring:
Warm layers (it can be cool on the water), sun protection, comfortable footwear, and a camera.
